Terms of Service
Last updated: July 24, 2026
Overview
Debut is a proof-of-work hiring platform. Companies brief us on roles, candidates introduce themselves with real work, and we help match the two. By using Debut, you agree to these terms.
Service Description
What Debut Provides
- A structured intake, run by Debby, that turns role briefs and candidate introductions into clear criteria and evidence.
- Evaluation of candidate work, including optional short challenges, against the role's criteria.
- Introductions between companies and candidates when the evidence supports one. During early access, every step is reviewed by a person.
Fees
- Debut is free for candidates, always.
- Companies pay a success fee when they hire a candidate Debut introduced, agreed in writing before any introduction is made.
- There are no posting fees, subscriptions, or charges for briefs and conversations.
User Responsibilities
By using Debut, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable laws, including employment law.
- Only submit work you have the right to share, and be truthful about your contribution to it.
- Describe roles, teams, and terms accurately if you are hiring.
- Not use the platform for harmful, deceptive, or discriminatory purposes.
- Not circumvent an introduction to avoid the success fee.
Candidate Work
Regarding the work candidates share:
- Candidates retain all rights to their work and submissions.
- Challenge submissions are for evaluation only; companies may not use them as deliverables.
- Candidate information is shared with companies only in the context of a potential match.
Early Access
Debut is in early access. The service is provided as-is while we build: features shown as previews are labeled as such, processes may change, and we make no guarantees about response times or hiring outcomes. What we do promise is honesty about all of the above.
